Black Friday Beauty Deals 2026: 5 Traps and What to Buy

Black Friday shopping.

Every November the same thing happens. A retailer emails you “UP TO 70% OFF,” you click, and forty minutes later you’ve bought a serum you’ve never tried, a mini set you didn’t need and a lip product that’s basically the one you already own. Then the real Black Friday arrives, the thing you actually wanted is cheaper, and you’re annoyed at yourself.

This year the trap is bigger, because the Black Friday beauty deals 2026 has to offer aren’t waiting for November 27. Ulta’s started on October 25. Sephora’s big sale ends on Monday. Amazon’s Holiday Shop is open. If you wait for the “real” day, some of the best prices will already have come and gone.

Below is every deal worth knowing about right now: what’s live, what to buy this weekend, what’s smarter to hold for Ulta’s next rounds and what to ignore. Every date and price was checked on November 6.

When do the Black Friday beauty deals 2026 start and end?

They’ve started, and the end dates are scattered, which is exactly why people miss them. Here’s the quick view, checked on November 6, and the detail follows.

Sephora US

The Holiday Savings Event runs through November 9. Rouge members got in first on October 30 at 20% off. VIB (15%) and Insider (10%) members shop from November 3. Everyone, including free Insiders, gets 30% off Sephora Collection. Three outlets (NBC Select, Marie Claire and The Quality Edit) list a code, ALLONSALE, so try it at checkout and make sure the discount shows before you pay. Two limits worth knowing: NBC reports a cap of three The Ordinary products and three Shark Beauty products per order.

Ulta.

Ulta black friday sale

Early Black Friday has been running since October 25 with weekly deals that swap on set dates. Diamond and Platinum members got an extra two-day round on November 6 and 7 and need to be signed in to see it. Black Friday proper starts online on November 21 at 8pm Central, and in stores from November 22 to 28. Cyber Monday is online from November 29 to December 1, followed by the Big Holiday Beauty Sale from November 29 to December 24.

Amazon US.

Early deals are in the Holiday Shop now. Amazon hasn’t said when its Black Friday deals start, only that the day itself is November 27. Prime is $14.99 a month or $139 a year, with a free 30-day trial for eligible people. Forbes spotted up to 30% off Kiehl’s, T3 and other beauty brands on November 5.

Amazon also ran its own Holiday Beauty Event from October 19 to November 1, with a different category each day or two: makeup up to 40% off on October 19 and 20, fragrance up to 35% on October 21 and 22, skincare up to 40% on October 27 and 28, and hair care up to 40% on October 29 and 30. That event is over, but it’s a useful benchmark. Amazon’s own standout deals ran at 20% to 39% off on things like COSRX Snail Mucin 96% Repairing Serum (26%), Olay Regenerist Retinol moisturiser (39%) and Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream (25%). If a Black Friday price on the same product isn’t beating that, you’ve learned something.

UK.

As of October 19 to 22, Boots had 25% off premium beauty, Sephora UK had up to 30% and LOOKFANTASTIC had 20%, with the main sales on November 27 to 30. That’s a few weeks old, so check again. Space NK hasn’t published its Black Friday dates yet, but it names Charlotte Tilbury, Sol de Janeiro and Olaplex among the brands with offers coming.

What should you buy at Sephora before Monday?

If you only have one weekend, spend it here, because the clock is real and the prices are good on things people actually finish.

Here’s the maths. The Sephora prices below are what NBC Select listed on November 3, and they work out to the 10% Insider discount. If you’re VIB you pay a bit less, and if you’re Rouge, a bit less again. For example, Glossier You Eau de Parfum is $82. At 10% it’s $73.80. At 20% it would be about $65.60, which is our own calculation, so check it in your basket.

Worth buying (things people use up):

  • Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask, $21.60 (usually $24). It’s a classic for a reason, and it comes with a little spatula. At LOOKFANTASTIC in the UK it was £16.80 down from £21.
  • Cyklar Vanilla Verve Body Cream, $26.10 (usually $29). NBC’s body pick, with a warm vanilla scent that absorbs quickly.
  • Eadem Le Chouchou Lip Balm, $21.60 (usually $24). A tinted balm that works as a gloss in the clear shade.
  • Touchland Power Mist Hydrating Hand Sanitizer, $9 (usually $10). A cheap stocking filler that people use.
  • Sephora Collection Size Up Volumizing Mascara, $11.20 (usually $16). The 30% off is for everyone, which makes it one of the easiest wins on the page.

Worth it only if you already use it:

  • K18 Leave-In Molecular Repair Hair Mask, $67.50 (usually $75). NBC’s hair pick. It’s pricey, and it suits damaged or heat-styled hair more than healthy hair.
  • Kérastase Elixir Ultime Hair Oil, $57.60 (usually $64). Good if you heat-style daily, unnecessary if you don’t.
  • Clarins Total Eye Lift Cream, $85.50 (usually $95). A staple for some people and a waste for others.

Our call on the expensive ones.

The Dr. Dennis Gross DRx SpectraLite FaceWare Pro Mask is $409.50 down from $455. NBC’s writer tested it for three weeks and saw better texture and tone. That’s one person’s experience, though, and a $409 LED mask is only a good deal if you were already going to buy one and will use it regularly. If you’re on the fence, you’re not ready.

The Sephora prices above are NBC Select’s figures from November 3. Treat them as price verdicts, not full reviews.

What’s coming at Ulta, week by week?

Ulta’s weekly structure is the sneaky part, because deals vanish on a schedule. These are the ones with real discounts listed. Ulta didn’t show regular prices on its page, so we can give you percentages but not dollar amounts.

This week, ending November 7

  • Gucci Bloom 40% off, excluding travel size.
  • The Nue Co. select fragrances 40% off.
  • Clinique select skincare and fragrances 25% off.
  • Fragrance (Marc Jacobs, Dolce & Gabbana and more) up to 30% off.
  • Haircare (Bumble and bumble, Biolage and more) up to 50% off.
  • Mario Badescu, the entire brand, 30% off.
  • Buy one, get one free on select minis from 35+ brands.

November 8 to 14:

  • Lancôme La Vie Est Belle Eau de Parfum 30% off.
  • medicube select products 30% off.
  • Serums (StriVectin, PEACH & LILY and more) 30% off.
  • ULTA Beauty Collection, the entire brand, 40% off.
  • Buy one, get one free on L’Oréal Paris and Maybelline makeup.
  • Shark FlexStyle IonCurl at $279.99 (the standard FlexStyle is $199.99 through November 14).

November 15 to 21:

  • Skincare (Perricone MD, Rodan + Fields and more) 30% off.
  • Snif select fragrances 30% off.
  • Hair and body mists (Saltair, Being Frenshe and more) 30% off.
  • ghd Platinum+ Styler 30% off, until November 21.
  • Gift sets (Lovery, Borghese and more) up to 45% off, online only, until November 21.

So here’s how we’d read it. If you want Gucci Bloom or a Nue Co. scent, it’s now or never at 40% off. If you want La Vie Est Belle or something from medicube, hold off until Sunday. And if you’re not a Diamond or Platinum member, the extra two-day deals from November 6 and 7 aren’t for you, so don’t chase them.

One more thing. Ulta’s banner says “up to 50% off” while its FAQ says “up to 40%.” Treat any “up to” figure as the best case, not the typical case. The deals above give you the real percentages.

Is Black Friday or Cyber Monday better for beauty?

Black Friday Beauty Deals 2026

There’s no clean rule, and anyone who gives you one is guessing. One beauty retailer’s blog argues Black Friday is better for gift sets and testing in store, while Cyber Monday is when online-first and independent brands go deeper, with direct-to-consumer brands typically at 15% to 20% off on Black Friday and 25% to 30% on Cyber Monday. That’s a single retailer’s claim, and we couldn’t verify it, so treat it as a hunch, not a rule.

What we can see is how the big shops are built. Sephora’s discounts are tier-based and don’t change by day. Ulta runs weekly rotations, then a separate online Cyber Monday window from November 29 to December 1 and a Big Holiday Beauty Sale through December 24. So the practical move is to shop by retailer, not by date. Buy what’s ending now, put the Ulta week you want in your calendar, and only hold out for a later day on things you’ve already priced. Gift sets are the exception. Popular ones sell out, like LOOKFANTASTIC’s fragrance advent calendar, which went in three days last year, so don’t wait on those.

Is perfume worth buying on Black Friday?

Sometimes, and this is where people overspend, because perfume is easy to buy and hard to un-buy.

Full-price perfume is expensive, so a real discount makes a difference. The deals we could confirm: Gucci Bloom 40% off and The Nue Co. 40% off at Ulta until November 7, La Vie Est Belle 30% off from November 8, and Snif 30% off from November 15. In the UK, YSL Libre Vanille Couture 50ml was £96.80 down from £121 at LOOKFANTASTIC, and the Marc Jacobs Daisy gift set was £37 down from £45 at Boots with code COSY20, both as of mid to late October. In the US, Glossier You is $73.80 at Sephora.

Our rule is simple. Only buy a perfume on sale if you’ve already worn it on your skin for a few hours and loved it at hour six. A 40% discount on a scent you’ll hate in a week is just an expensive mistake. If you haven’t tested it, buy a sample or a travel size now and decide later. We covered this in Before You Buy Perfume This Fall: 5 Scams and Hype Traps, and the advice hasn’t changed: sample first, buy second.

Are beauty advent calendars worth it?

beauty advent calendars | Black Friday beauty deals 2026:

Only if you’d buy most of what’s inside, and most people can’t tell until the box is open.

LOOKFANTASTIC’s 2026 calendars launched on September 1. The Beauty one is £120 with 27 products, 19 of them full size, from brands like Laneige, Color Wow, Elemis and Clinique. The Fragrance one is £150 with 25 products, including Jo Malone London, YSL, Rabanne and Carolina Herrera. The shop says they’re worth over £665 and over £530, but those are the shop’s own figures. Last year the fragrance one sold out in three days, so it may already be gone. We couldn’t confirm stock today.

Buy the Beauty calendar if you’d realistically use most of the 19 full-size products. Skip the Fragrance one unless you like blind-sampling, because a calendar of surprises can mean twenty-five scents you’ll never wear. Always read the full contents list first.

What are the best gift sets and gifts under $25, $50 and $100?

Here’s where the verified prices help. These are Sephora US prices as reported by NBC Select on November 3, at the 10% Insider rate. The sale ends November 9.

Under $25

  • Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask, $21.60
  • Eadem Le Chouchou Lip Balm, $21.60
  • Biodance Hydro Cera-nol Real Deep Mask, $17.10 (a pack of four masks)
  • Touchland Power Mist Hand Sanitizer, $9
  • Sephora Collection Size Up Mascara, $11.20

Under $50

  • Cyklar Vanilla Verve Body Cream, $26.10
  • Rhode Glazing Milk Ceramide Facial Essence, $28.80
  • Sol de Janeiro Cheirosa 40 Hair and Body Mist, $35.10
  • Danessa Myricks Yummy Skin Blurring Balm Powder, $35.10
  • Haus Labs Triclone Skin Tech Foundation, $46.80

Under $100

  • Kérastase Elixir Ultime Hair Oil, $57.60
  • K18 Leave-In Molecular Repair Hair Mask, $67.50
  • Glossier You Eau de Parfum, $73.80
  • Clarins Total Eye Lift Cream, $85.50

If you want fragrance gift sets Christmas 2026, buy a set with full-size bottles. Mini sets look great in photos and run out in a fortnight. For beauty gift sets under $50, a quick habit pays off every time: add up what’s inside at the single-item price on the same site. Some are great, some are a bunch of minis in a nice box.

Everyone’s talking about gift sets right now. One social analytics report, from Syncly in October, found holiday gift sets in 2.9% of makeup TikToks, up from 1.1% in September, with Summer Fridays, Rhode and Tarte leading. It also found 62% of the matching TikToks carried a sponsored flag. That doesn’t make the products bad, but a lot of the excitement is paid for.

How do you spot a fake deal?

There are two different problems here, and they get mixed up. One is a fake discount, where the “was” price is puffed up. The other is a fake product.

Fake discounts. The Ordinary closes its websites and stores on November 27 in protest of “high-pressure consumerism,” and it publishes a guide to spotting fake deals. Its advice is sensible: keep a wishlist and watch prices over a few weeks, notice when a bottle shrinks at the same price, and doubt “last chance” labels, since products usually come back and go on sale again.

There’s also context from Which?. When it analysed 214 Black Friday deals from 2021, it found only one in seven offered a genuine discount. That study is from 2022 and covered shops like Amazon, Argos, Currys and John Lewis, not beauty, so we read it as a reason to check prices, not proof that beauty deals are fake.

Our four-question test. Before you click buy:

  1. Would you pay this price on a normal Tuesday?
  2. What does it cost per use, or per ml, compared with the usual price?
  3. Have you actually checked another shop?
  4. Can you return it if it’s wrong?

If any answer is “no,” close the tab and come back in an hour.

Fake products. Counterfeit perfume and skincare sell best when the price looks too good. Buy from the brand, a big retailer or a pharmacy. On marketplaces, check who is selling it, not just who made the listing. Be wary of tiny sellers, brand-new shops and prices far below everywhere else. When it arrives, look for misspellings, smudged print, a missing batch code or a damaged seal. If it burns or smells wrong, stop using it.

What are the 5 biggest Black Friday beauty mistakes?

Buying because of the percentage. “50% off” means nothing if you wouldn’t have bought it at full price.

Believing “up to.” “Up to 40% off” means one item is 40% off. The rest might be 10%.

Waiting for November 27 on everything. Some of the best prices are on now and end this week.

Blind buying fragrance. Cheap and wrong is still wrong.

Trusting sponsored hype. If everyone online is gushing over a gift set, check who’s being paid.
